AC filter and switching capacitors

AC Power capacitors are used in power supply circuits where noise suppression, voltage regulation and line current reduction is required. AC capacitors are also used in power factor correction circuits for reactive power to correct lagging current caused by inductances.

Metallized Polypropylene film capacitors offer high reliability and good performance with high Urms and Irms ratings and low ESR and ESL values.

 

AC Input filtering applications typically have surges or high pulse stresses, voltage fluctuations and other line disturbances and specific attention must be paid when choosing the capacitors. Versions made with segmented film are available for applications where higher safety is required.
